The UK has infiltrated the United States market through the online
casino industry. A large percentage of online casinos have web
hosts from Great Britain.
It
looks like the US is making an endeavor to make ventures into the
British market. There is some speculation that this moves comes
out of a competitive spirit among US businesses. Whatever the
motivation, the United States market for land based casinos is
making efforts to expand their gambling empire across the pond.
The World famous casino Caesar's Palace is taking advantage of the
liberal policies set in place by the British government. The
casino construction in the UK would cost the palace 293 million
pounds. Caesars is banking on the already lucrative market that
exists in England. Casinos in Blackpool and London all rake in
revenue which would suggest that the casino will more than pay for
itself.
Harrah's Entertainment, under the conditions of the deal, will
maintain access to six existing casinos and the permit to further
expansion five additional.
This one deal has allowed for Harrah's entertainment to make a
strong foot hold on the British market. London Clubs, the company
who has made the deal with the American Casino Mogul, has plans to
construct their own Vegas-style casinos in Britain. The
competition that will be produced because of the current deal,
will more than likely lead to Caesar's palace creating the
better of the entertainment facilities.
British based company will certainly not posses the authenticity of
the Caesars casino brand. Much like the online casino domination
held by the British in the US, there is a good change that a
similar relationship will occurred with land based gambling sites
that will favor the US. The United States casino owners are doubly
advantaged considering the amount of regulation placed on
casinos in the US.
The British are not accustomed to functioning in a highly
restricted market when it comes to gambling. The business savvy
developed by US gambling business executives due to the amount of
laws they have to adhere to as well as running the casino.
Unlike the United States however, the British government will not
change their policy merely because of the US domination in the
land based casinos. It will be interesting to see how the
development of the casinos pan out.
