Sheffield Super-Casino in the Works

Sept. 6-06

A Sheffield super casino will open up job opportunities in the UK. According to estimations the proposed casino will generate more than 14,000 jobs for the community.

The Casino advisory panel have met to discuss the construction of a Las Vegas style casino in Sheffield and the possible impact the facility may have on the surrounding community. The 14,000 employee figure was derived from that meeting as a means to illustrate the economic gained that could be acquired after the casino was up and running.

Sheffield would be joining six other major cities in the UK who have taken on casino construction plans. The competition posed by the already existing sites will be combated by the buildings super-casino status.  The Las Vegas style will be infused in the British casino as a means to attract clientele from al over the country.

The Chief executive of the advisory council, Sir Bob Kerslake, touted the location and opportunity that Sheffield provides. It is his belief that Sheffield is ideal for such a venture and that the super-casino will thrive in the area.

With a costumer base of 4.4. million that live within an hours drive from the city, it is no wonder that the town of Sheffield has caught the eye of casino investors. There is amble opportunity for allocating long time patrons of the super-casino, which will no doubt employ marketing efforts that reach outside the city of Sheffield.

Sir Kerslake also projected a generation of 14,000 jobs over the course of the next twenty years. The initial number of openings produced by the casino is estimated at around 1,500. The 217 million pounds yearly revenue will be more than beneficial to the city of Sheffield.

The Chief Executive acknowledges that there will be quite a hurdle to over come if and when a license is permitted for construction on the casino. Business, after all, is not the only fact that plays a key role in the decision. However, it is through highlighting the economic benefit that Kerslake hopes to push the project forward.
