Ottawa Tribe Build
Michigan Casino
Sept. 30-06
Michigan is opening its arms to the
casinos and sports betting. Soon the Midwest will be teaming with
tourists from across the country who want to satisfy their
gambling fix.
Plans for the casino are being
negotiated by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa Indians who intend
to create the casino on the reservation. The Hotel casino will be
347,000 square feet and provide 120 rooms for consumers who wish
to extend their casino visitation.
The Casino will be called the Turtle
Creek and the Ottawa tribe hope that the restaurants and shops
will increase profits within the organization.
Currently the tribe has found its home
in the Leelanau Sands Casino which is Located in Acme Michigan.
Leelanau includes a casino floor with roulette, poker, and
slot-machines.
Due to the increased revenue at the
Acme casino, the tribe has had the opportunity to build and expand
on the business. The Ottawa tribe intends to promote the casinos
for their different services.
The Acme casino, for example, has its
own attraction being a resort, which is much different than the
hotel casino that will be built.
Gambling in the Midwest is a
relatively new phenomenon and with the initiative to build a
sophisticated facility chances are the Indian Reservations will be
a hot commodity once the facility is built.
The Ottawa tribe plans to break ground
next month on the hotel casino, first they must go through the
process of receiving a license for the new facility
