Louisiana Enforcing
the Law Concerning Online Casino
Sept. 27-06
Louisiana is on a mission to
completely eliminate the presence of online casino gaming activity
in the state. The government has sent a palpable warning with the
arrest of Peter Dicks which they hop will resonant in the minds of
all online gambling executives.
If the operation of such cites
continue in Louisiana, there will be warrants issued for the
arrests of more executive if and when they reach U.S. Soil.
Although the Louisiana government is
not alone in its state legislation to prohibit online casinos, it
is one of the few who has taken the offensive when it comes to the
relatively docile violation.
Police in Louisiana are completely on
board with the strong hold law enforcement is placing on the
state. A tight hold on the kind of online business that is
acceptable, in their opinion, must be regulated by the law.
Joe Lentini, who is head up the
Louisiana police with their initiative against online casinos
informed the press that there were four warrants of arrest issued
in relation to Sportbetting.com executives. Lentini did not name
the other three individual who were issued a warrant in addition
to Peter Dicks.
This will no doubt deter anyone in the
country to make a trip to the U.S. There is no way to be sure who
is possibly in danger of being arrested on sight.
Warrants for the arrest of online
casino executives did not end with the Sportbeting.com platform.
Several other internet gambling companies are currently under
investigation by the Louisiana police.
The casino division of the Louisiana
police find themselves very busy. The utilization of the online
arena for casino gambling has made a significant boost in the
amount of activity of the police working in this particular
department. With very little to incite the arrests, the recent
involvement of Louisiana police in the online casino industry
could be a political play to remain useful and avoid being
dissolved as a unit.
It is understood Louisiana has sealed
warrants against more than 50 people working with, or connected
to, at least a dozen online gambling companies, or related
agencies.
Activity in the department continues,
with more than 50 warrants issued for individuals working with or
connected to the operation of online casinos offshore.
