Prohibition Bill Passed to the White House
Sept. 29-06
The Senate has made a decision to
attach the online casino gambling prohibition bill as a rider
to an initiative to increase port security in the U.S.
The bill is being promoted by Senate
majority leader Bill Frist because current litigation will not
permit aggressive legal action against online casino companies.
The new rider would restrict the
access of casino sites in the U.S. through the regulation of
possible payments to the company. Credit cards, checks, and
electronic fund transfers will be impermissible as a result of the
HR4411 bill passed by the House of Representatives to the Senate.
Online casino companies have been
given tremendous pressure for the past two months by the U.S.
government who are pushing the gambling companies out.
Critics who are opposed to the bill
have pointed out the irrelevance of the online gambling issue in
relation to home land security.
Many states have been enforcing out
dated laws in order to prosecute citizens who use online gambling
sites. The Wire Act of 61 has been used was created to
thwart gambling over telephone lines.
Due to the absence of litigation that
really pertains to the online casino industry, the government has
decided to stretch laws that apply to similar mediums. The only
issue is that the laws do not hold up much longer after arrest.
