Poker Winner Running
an Illegal Online Casino
Police
in San Antonio have attained a warrant to search the home of
Richard Lee. Lee, who recently was a finalist in the World Series
of Poker in Las Vegas, has been associated with the operation of
an illegal online casino. The accusation comes at a tumultuous
time in casino legislation, as online casino operators await
decisions from the senate on the HR4411 bill.
The
illegal operation that Lee is under suspicion of promoting, is one
of the largest in the city of San Antonio. According to police the
amount of evidence found in Robert's dwelling definitely provide
fodder for doubts about his innocence. After searching Lee's
home. San Antonio police discovers gambling proceeds and receipts.
Some of the documents have records of payouts to the tune of
$500,000.
Police
spokesperson John Rio, was surprise at the extant to which the
online casino ring had been functioning. "It was a pretty well
oiled machine they were running here" says Rio upon his
observance of the amount of documented online transactions made
by Lee. It is officer Rio's believe that not only was Lee involved
in the online casino, but that he actually operated its nerve
center.
Much of
Lees assets were seized as a result of the search. Expensive items
such as Plasma TVs, luxury cars, and extremely large deposits of
cash were confiscated by the San Antonio police for further
investigation. The police hope that the items will give them
information concerning the extant to which the online casino was
run.
No
arrests have yet been made despite the amount of seized evidence.
The investigation is ongoing and the police believe that the newly
found evidence will lead to an arrest very soon.
Lee, who
placed sixth at the World Series of Poker, will be biting his
nails and biding his time waiting for the possible charges that
could be brought up against him concerning the illegal online
casino.
