Online Casino Technology Has Been Challenged!
If you thought that online casinos
were the final frontier in casino technologies, you just haven't
been paying attention. With the increased popularity of online
games, land based casinos are stepping up to the technological
plate and reclaiming their dominance in the gaming industry
High-Tech casino floors are soon to be
a realization in Las Vegas. Borrowing server software from their
online counterparts, Vegas gambling facilities are soon to get a
techno makeover to die for. Casinos like the Mirage and Caesar's
Palace will forgo their traditional game play for a more exciting
multimedia alternative.
Vice president of Marketing for
International Game Technology, Ed Rogich, is predicting the use of
servers to proliferate the casino industry. International Game
Technology (IGT) is among the world's best international
gaming device manufacturers and developers.
Rogich feels that state of the art
video and audio reproduction will replace the literal
slot-machines currently found all over casinos in Las Vegas. The
screens on slots will most likely become LCD's and employ the same
flat screen technology that is conducive to high definition
television.
This is exciting news for Vegas.
Making these changes will give the city an appeal that will set
them apart from the online casinos. The environment will be what
attracts visitors from around the world.
IGT is launching their Star Wars
series of casino games. This will include slots that play actual
scenes from the movie as gamblers progress in the game.
Considering Rogich's suggestion as to the future conditions of the
Las Vegas casino, this particular subject choice for the new slots
is nothing short of ironic.
After all, if all the suggested
progression takes place, casino floors run risk of looking like
Lucas' science fiction hit.
The type of machine that allows for
viewing movie scenes is a part of AVP, which is IGT's advanced
video platform. This technology will propel the entertainment
level in gambling facilities light years forward.
