Religious Officials Say No to Casino Support

Religious leaders in the UK are having to make statements clearing up the  speculation surrounding the church's stance on casino construction in the Millennium Dome. Due to an extremely unfortunate miscommunication, the AEG group had released a statement speaking to the chaplaincy support of the proposed construction.

Church leaders make it clear that it would not be in their best interest to encourage the construction of gambling facilities in the area. The Chaplaincy has released a statement saying that they are happy with the amount of employment that will be provided by the Millennium Dome however, all the of the occupations in the dome do not concur with the interest of the church.

The Chaplaincy has an issue with the casino as it completely contradicts sacred writings concerning the subject. This is not to say that the citizens in Great Britain are as opposed to the casino construction. Various Christians and Jews in the area are split in their opinions concerning the casino.

AEG officials claim they are not aware of how the miscommunication occurred. Religious support would have been extremely beneficial for the casino, because its construction comes in the wake of a great deal of casino expansion in Great Britain.

Casinos in Cardiff and Blackpool are being met with resistance among traditionalists in their respective communities. The Millennium Dome , although being built in a much less suburban area, has been met with an equal amount of resistance. There is a certain ambience that is created with casinos that every member of the community is not ready to take on.

Rev. Terry of the Chaplaincy expressed his grievance concerning the untrue claims of the AEG group. The problem, according to the Rev, is that the group did not consult anyone prior to releasing the statements.

According to the reports the Chaplaincy was to be a religious consultant for the construction workers on the dome and also for families relocating for work provided by the casinos. The chaplaincy does not wish to breed any bad blood among the many employees, but they can not simply permit religious support for a project that promotes gambling.
